Queclink Wireless Solutions has launched a 4G LTE router platform, the WR220 series, that the supplier says will enable coach and bus operators to modernise fleets by generation of real-time data insights and delivery of connected services.

Alongside advanced wireless connectivity, the WR220 series delivers what Queclink explains is expanded flexibility through Power over Ethernet (PoE) operation, broader accessory integration, and enhanced interface options.

The supplier adds that the WR220 series is built for demanding deployments and harsh environments. It has an industrial-ready and compact design including a rugged aluminium enclosure, a wide operating temperature range, and broad power input support.

It also gives stable 4G wireless connectivity with dual sim redundancy and what Queclink describes as intelligent failover mechanisms to maintain network availability. Remote management allows centralised monitoring, configuration, and diagnostics.

The router additionally combines networking, interfacing and wireless technologies into one compact platform to simplify deployment and reduce additional gateways and hardware requirements, the supplier continues.

“This allows the industrial router to bridge legacy operational technology and modern cloud systems with a single architecture, creating a unified, interconnected communication ecosystem,” Queclink continues.

The WR220 enables direct connection with wireless sensors and edge devices such as beacons, door sensors, key fobs, and tyre pressure monitoring systems.

PoE functionality enables the router to receive power and data delivery via a single ethernet cable, making the WR220 ideal for space-constrained locations, the supplier adds. “It will streamline cabling requirements and deployment costs, especially in locations where dedicated power wiring is difficult,” the company says.

Continues International Sales Director Vernon Bonser: “WR220 is an industrial networking solution that helps to enhance customer experience, achieve operational efficiency, and gain competitive advantage.

“The router has been developed to provide a digital foundation to transform coach and bus operations with real-time data processing and communication capabilities that benefit both passengers and fleet management operations.”
