Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) has begun the first UK trial of software provided by Remix that is claimed to improve bus services and routes.
The programme is designed to help network development, cost and demographic impact analysis, and streamlined internal and external communication.
TfWM will trial Remix for 12 months and it is showing potential already, says Network Development Manager Edmund Salt.
“Remix will help to create network development plans to guide bus improvements, and to support growth on an area-by-area basis across the region – a core deliverable for us within our role in the West Midlands Bus Alliance.
“Secondly, it allows us to identify network route changes to support growth through the use of visualised data. That means we can better plan adjustments in response to land use changes.”
Adds Remix Co-founder and European General Manager Dan Getelman: “Our goal is to help plan more liveable cities, so we look forward to supporting the numerous projects across the West Midlands. We are thrilled to partner with TfWM, our first customer in the UK, to help guide the future of its network.”
