Jason Edwards Travel has chosen Stertil-Koni vehicle lifts and garage equipment for its workshop near Heathrow Airport, with six ST1075FSA mobile column lifts having been delivered to the coach operator.
They have a combined capacity of 30,000kg and are “perfectly suited to the demands of servicing large commercial vehicles such as coaches and buses, providing the reliability and strength essential for maintaining a busy fleet,” says the supplier.
Part of the ST1075FSA unit is its ebright Smart Control system. It allows use of the lifts either individually or simultaneously through touch-screen controls. That streamlines operations by minimising downtime and maximising productivity, Stertil-Koni adds.
Each column has an independent mechanical locking system to securely hold the vehicle in place and a microprocessor-controlled synchronisation feature for smooth and accurate lifting. 75 seconds are required to raise a vehicle to 1.85m.
Power for the lifts is from a standard garage 415-volt supply. Heavy-duty communication cables ensure robust connectivity. Synthetic runner wheels and a hydraulic pallet truck mechanism to move each column are durable and make the units easy to manoeuvre.
Also supplied to Jason Edwards Travel is a range of axle stands in various sizes. They deliver versatility to enable free wheel support when columns are removed from a raised vehicle or provide additional stability during lifting operations.
Purchase of the garage equipment by Jason Edwards Travel follows strong investment in its coach fleet by the recently founded operator, which carries out tour work in addition to delivering National Express scheduled services as a contractor.
