Knorr-Bremse is backing the Skills Challenge to sustain safe public transport
The engineering competition for coach and bus technicians, the IRTE Skills Challenge, makes a valuable contribution to public safety, according to braking systems manufacturer Knorr-Bremse.
John Simmons, Knorr-Bremse Sales and Marketing Manager says: “We want to make public transport safer.
“Supporting this competition – one which helps the progress of the technicians who work every day to keep these vehicles in the road – makes perfect sense for us as an organisation.
“Being a sponsor from the very beginning we have been able to see the positive impact it has had on the sector.
“Each year brings another fresh dimension, more teams and a competition willing to show an industry full of confident and determined individuals,” added John.
Based in Munich, Knorr-Bremse is the world’s leading manufacturer of braking systems for coaches and buses, as well as a supplier of additional sub-systems. The organisation will sponsor the IRTE Skills Challenge competition for the eighth time.
“Knorr-Bremse is a proud sponsor of the IRTE Skills Challenge. We would like to thank all the operators for taking part in the competition again this year and we look forward to finding out who came out on top at the awards ceremony,” adds John.
Testing week begins at the S&B Automotive Academy in Bristol on 4 June.
