Transport for Wales (TfW) is working with mobility intelligence company Cityswift on a project that will see the supplier’s artificial intelligence technology used to improve the bus experience for passengers in Wales.
Data analysis by CitySwift is providing TfW with what the public body says is “access to new insights and AI-powered runtimes.” Performance insights for five major Welsh bus operators have been generated that focus on demand and movement pattern analysis.
TfW will work with operators and use the data “to make the bus a more attractive service for the people of Wales,” says Head of Bus Network and Service Development Andrew Sherrington. TfW adds that it will do so by helping to improve punctuality and delivering more reliable, faster journey times.
Adds Mr Sherrington: “CitySwift has given TfW a better holistic understanding of how the network moves. For the first time, we can access detailed punctuality, reliability and efficiency insights across Wales’ five major bus operators.”
CitySwift Head of Growth John Aloy continues: “CitySwift is thrilled to support TfW on its mission to deliver safe, sustainable transport options to the people of Wales.
“Using CitySwift’s mobility intelligence to access performance insights, demand data and revised schedules, the team at TfW can deliver a more attractive, reliable and convenient bus service for the people of Wales.”
