Wheelchair lift fall risk cut by Koller product

Fall Stop from Koller is designed to prevent people falling from raised lifts

Koller has introduced Fall Stop, which is “a strong and robust barrier that provides peace of mind when using a vehicle’s passenger lift.”

Fall Stop increases safety by stopping a wheelchair user, a semi-ambulant passenger or an attendant or driver from falling from the platform.

It is made from high-strength material and it has been pull tested to 850kg. Finished in high-visibility and durable powder coating, Fall Stop can be clipped into the lift rail and it does not require any tools for fitting.

Says MD Dean Koller: “There is a very real risk when using a passenger lift that a wheelchair could roll off, or an attendant could lose their footing and fall from the raised platform.

“It was extremely important to provide a barrier to stop that from happening.

“We received enquiries from a number of customers about how they could improve safety when using the lift.

“We put that to the Koller design team and they came back with Fall Stop. It is simple to install and to store on the vehicle, as it is lightweight and compact.”
