Wood Brothers Travel has strengthened its vehicle maintenance and cleaning capability with the arrival of a set of six Stertil-Koni cabled mobile column lifts.

The Buckfastleigh operator has chosen the ST1075FSA product. Each column has a lifting capacity of 7,500kg to give an overall tolerance of 45,000kg when all six are used together.

Wood Brothers Travel will use them to lift vehicles during cleaning and inspection. To support wash bay activity, Stertil-Koni has supplied specialist protective covers for the columns that it says will withstand demanding external conditions.

Those shield the columns from water, cleaning chemicals and changing weather conditions, ensuring dependable performance during frequent outdoor use.

The operator finds that a key advantage to Stertil-Koni lifts is their use of the ebright Smart Control System. It enables garage staff to control the columns either individually or as a coordinated set via what the supplier describes as intuitive touchscreen consoles. That flexibility helps to streamline processes and improve productivity

Each column has an independent mechanical locking system to securely support the vehicle. Also used is microprocessor-controlled synchronisation for smooth and level lifting. The columns can rise up to 185cm in 75 seconds, further benefiting the productivity aspect.

Power is drawn from a standard 415-volt power supply. Heavy-duty cables are used to ensure robust connectivity. Maintenance-free synthetic runner wheels and an integrated pallet truck mechanism allow the columns to be positioned quickly and easily within the wash bay area.
