Arriva Bus launches new m-ticket app.

Arriva is launching a new version of its m-ticket app. Customers will be able to buy more flexible tickets and new payment methods have been added including PayPal, Apple Pay and Android Pay.

New functionality means customers can benefit from repeat purchase options, while being able to view handy cost-per-day comparisons as well as a map showing where they can travel.

In addition, customers can now access their tickets whether they are online or offline, and can ‘gift’ tickets to friends and family.

The launch of the new app, which also delivers a brand new ticket design and the flexibility to offer regional price promotions, will be supported by an integrated marketing campaign during February.

Gillian Singh, Marketing and NPD Director at Arriva UK Bus, said: “The m-ticket app has proved incredibly popular with customers since it first launched and in fact Arriva was the first bus company to launch mobile ticketing on a national scale, so it is very exciting to be launching a host of upgrades to further improve the user experience.

“We know that many of our passengers are keen to see increased use of digital technology and the new app will help us meet this demand now and into the future.”

Another aspect of the digital suite available to Arriva Bus users is also undergoing an upgrade this week. The Journey Planning and Real Time app will feature new functionality and design improvements in the upgrade.

As part of the enhancements the app will feature a new home screen with a customised live departure board enabling users to view the arrival time of their bus.

Live map enhancements are included allowing users to filter by route, and an improved user experience and interface provides visual consistency and ease of navigation.
