Arbroath-based IED Training Solutions has worked with National Express to create the coach and bus industry’s first IOSH-approved safety management training course.
It designed and produced the bespoke two-day course, Managing Workplace and Transport Health and Safety, following a request from the group to develop something appropriate for managers that addresses issues such as safety, security and employee health and wellbeing.
It comprises five modules: The legal environment, risk management, common hazards in the transport industry, health and safety, and coach and bus safety control systems.
Delegates receive IOSH certification on their successful completion.
The first two courses were delivered in June and National Express has booked twelve more.
IED has delivered a number of other training courses to group subsidiary Xplore Dundee previously, and also to the senior management team at its West Midlands headquarters.
Says IED MD Ian Clark: “It has been a pleasure working with both National Express and Xplore Dundee over the past 18 months. We are very much looking forward to continuing and growing that relationship in the years to come.
“Our new course will be offered to other transport providers.”
