Mercedes-Benz has celebrated 25 years of the Sprinter platform, which was launched on 23 January 1995.
It says that the battery-electric eSprinter will be “the next milestone” for what has become the world’s most successful vehicle in its class.
The Sprinter moved into its second generation in 2006. The current generation debuted in 2018.
The manufacturer adds the current model includes the option of comprehensive digital networking, which makes it suitable for demand responsive transport applications.
When Mercedes-Benz presented the eSprinter in December 2019, it revealed that it will be offered with an 85kW motor at the front axle along with either 47kW/h or 34kW/h of usable battery capacity and various payloads, ranges and top speeds.
