Latest orders take number of E200EVs on order on in service past 160

Metroline has become the latest operator to order the BYD ADL Enviro200EV electric bus, signing a deal for 23 10.8m examples. They will be delivered in summer 2018 and are for use on Transport for London (TfL) route 46.

Meanwhile, Go-Ahead London has placed its third order for the type. 11 will take over operation of TfL route 153 in February and 19 will enter service on the 214 in August 2019.

Metroline became the world’s first operator of all-electric double deckers in 2016, and the order for 23 BYD ADL single-deckers is a natural progression, says Chief Operating Officer Sean O’Shea.

“This is a significant step, and it further underscores our determination to lead the industry as well as our commitment to our customers and TfL.”

The latest deals take to 154 the number of BYD ADL Enviro200EVs either in service or on order for London, 95 of which will be with Go-Ahead. A further 12 are due for Arriva North West.
