Already available in a wide range of lengths and seating configurations, the Neoplan Tourliner – currently MAN’s sole full-size coach in the UK market – is to receive further upgrades.
An early version of the front seating improvement – on display at IAA in Hanover, the German truck and bus trade show – deals with operator feedback about the lack of vision from the front row of passenger seats.
Modifications to the side glass mean that the front styling ‘beam’ now intrudes less on sideways vision, while the addition of a glazed area below the waistline admits more light.
Speaking exclusively to routeone, Wayne Ulph MD Coach and Bus MAN UK says that further work is to be done with the glass arrangement to reduce the apparent thickness of the front pillar for passengers.
He added that from Q2 2019 digital mirrors will be an option of all Tourliners.
MAN UK is currently ordering stock for 2019 as “protection against currency fluctuations due to Brexit” to ensure that it can remain competitive in the tough UK market.
