Preparing for the launch of the new FoxStar service in Newport

Bristol-based CityFox Group hopes its new South Wales venture offering bus services between Bettws and central Newport from 3 December might lead to route expansion across the city and other areas.

FoxStar-branded buses on ‘theone’ service are set to run up to every 12 minutes. They will be operated by CityFox Group’s Snowdonia Travel subsidiary, which was acquired in 2017 and holds an operator’s licence to run buses and coaches throughout Wales. The new route’s launch will be accompanied by Snowdonia moving into a new depot and office location in Newport.

“We have been looking for a suitable opportunity to begin registered bus operations for a while,” said CityFox Group Managing Director Rhys Hand, who founded the company in 2014.

“If the formula works in Bettws, we will look forward to add more routes across Newport and further afield in due course.”
