After moving to the latest Ticketer electronic ticket machine (ETM), West Sussex-based Compass Travel is to launch the supplier’s app called ZipTrip.
ZipTrip is Ticketer’s own passenger app. It provides users with real-time information such as live departure times, the location of the bus, detailed route information and how to find the nearest stop.
The information in ZipTrip is fed directly from the ETMs on each vehicle. Real-time data is combined with timetable information to provide accurate predictions of bus arrival times.
“ZipTrip is becoming a vital tool for passengers,” says Ticketer CEO John Clarfelt. It makes using the bus much easier, as passengers can plan their journeys more accurately.
“It also means no more waiting at stops, because they can see exactly where the bus is and what time it will arrive at their stop.”
Compass Travel also benefits from Ticketer ETMs’ ability to accept contactless payments and to provide tickets with a printed QR code. That speeds up boarding and significantly reduces fraud, says the operator.
The ZipTrip app is available for download on all Apple or Google Play devices.
