Stagecoach has reaffirmed its support for Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity, renewing its partnership with the organisation for a fourth consecutive year and doubling its annual donation to £50,000 for 2025.
The funding will help the charity establish more Roald Dahl Specialist Nurses within NHS Trusts across the UK to care for children living with lifelong conditions. More than 200 Roald Dahl Nurses support over 40,000 children and their families. But the charity estimates that thousands more could benefit from its wrap-around model of care.
In 2024, Stagecoach’s ‘Giving for Good’ Committee contriuted £25,000 to the cause. The operator’s decision to double this commitment for 2025 signals a long-term strategy of deepening community engagement and corporate responsibility. In addition to financial backing Stagecoach staff will also lead fundraising initiatives such as sporting challenges, bake sales and community events, to raise funds and awareness of the charity’s work.
Says Claire Miles, Chief Executive Officer at Stagecoach: “We are incredibly proud to support Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity once again. The impact its specialist Roald Dahl Nurses have on families across the UK is nothing short of inspiring. This partnership reflects the deep values of our people and our organisation—to care, to give back, and to help create a more inclusive and supportive society.”
Adds the charity’s CEO, Louise Griew: “Families caring for children who are seriously ill and with complex medical needs are on an exhausting and complicated journey, in and out of hospital across each month. We are incredibly grateful for our partnership with Stagecoach. The team there work so hard to find the best ways to support the charity, Roald Dahl Nurses and the families. That includes their special support helping transport some of the most vulnerable and wonderful children across London for our very special Christmas events.
“Stagecoach’s donation this year is incredible and importantly, every penny of it will go directly to our ongoing programmes and make a difference to the work we’re doing across the UK.”
