Central Group Forum announced for Arboretum

The National Memorial Arboretum will be the venue for the Group Buyer Forum Central event on 22 October 2018.

The Forum is the latest in Steve Reed Tourism’s ‘new generation’ of business-focused group bookings events. It follows recent successes at both Samlesbury Hall in Lancashire and RHS Wisley in Surrey.

The events aim to put active tour planners directly in touch with hotels, attractions, destinations, retail and group venues from all over the country.

The National Memorial Arboretum is a year-round centre of remembrance, a maturing woodland landscape with around 330 memorials.

The focus isn’t entirely military; it has a large area devoted to police who have fallen while on duty, other areas devoted to the fire and rescue and ambulance services, and national charities representing those who have died in particular circumstances, including children.

There will be around 50 UK attractions, destinations and hotels exhibiting at the event, meeting tour buyers from all over Great Britain.

The event will also include tours of the Arboretum.

Sarah Oakden, Head of Marketing at the National Memorial Arboretum, says: “The Arboretum is now firmly established as a top visitor attraction and is a perfect venue for the Group Buyer Forum event. We will make sure that the tour planners visiting – as well as the tourist industry exhibiting – will have an unforgettable experience.”

The event will follow the Group Buyer Forum South, taking place on 30 April at Brooklands Museum in Weybridge, Surrey.

Steve Reed, MD of Steve Reed Tourism, says: “We love to put sellers together with buyers and the choice of venue for the Group Buyer Forum events is crucial.

“It has to be a group-friendly attraction or destination, and the NMA doesn’t come any friendlier to groups of all types – it’s ideal for groups.”
