As 2018 is the 250th anniversary of the modern circus, Newcastle-under-Lyme is holding special events to celebrate Philip Astley, “the father of the modern circus”.

A weekend festival in August, an exhibition at the Brampton Museum and workshops will be held. Visit philipastley.org.uk
