Like many in the commercial vehicle industry, UK coach and bus operators are facing ever increasing challenges, with rising costs and more emphasis on safety.

Choosing a braking product that is cost effective, durable and above all safe in all conditions can be a particularly difficult challenge.

Constantly stopping and starting can put strain on the brakes, with temperatures regularly exceeding 500°C and in some cases as high as 800°C.

Basic pad grades wear at a much faster rate once the operating temperature exceeds 400°C. Therefore, bus operators find a better premium grade of pad becomes an advantage, providing a more cost effective fitment.

It is not enough to carry out the mandatory UNECER90 tests which cover the basic braking effectiveness and fade but do not test for performance and durability.

SYNERGY Braking has undergone exhaustive field trials with one of the largest bus operators in the UK and has proven to be one of the best materials available.
