Fältcom is asking whether bus services are operated at their peak efficiency through knowledge of exactly where passengers board and alight.
Its automatic passenger counting solutions can report how many people got on and off and where, and a ‘live load’ figure at any time can be displayed on an interactive map.
Potential benefits, says Fältcom, include the ability to fine-tune stop location and waiting space, and the ability to see precisely what size vehicle is required to accommodate all users.
