The highly anticipated redevelopment of the Volvo Bus & Coach Sales Centre at Coventry is now underway, with the £1.3m project set to quadruple the existing office space to more than 700m2.

This entire project has been conceived by Volvo Bus UK & Ireland with the prime purpose of enhancing the whole buying and handover experience for coach customers and will include both new and used vehicles, together with overall service. At the same time, the general working environment and facilities will also be improved for the team.

Open in autumn

With a target completion date in early autumn 2018 the project has been initiated as part of a drive by the company to create the best customer facilities and experience possible. The building plans include an internal showroom, a dedicated customer specification room as well as improved meeting facilities.

The redevelopment of the Volvo Bus & Coach Sales Centre at Coventry is underway; completion by the autumn

James Hyde, Retail Sales Director for Volvo Bus UK & Ireland, says: “While we’ve known our current location in Coventry is an ideal place to service our customers, in recent years we have had a period of significant growth.

“In line with this, our business has expanded by more than 100% since 2010 and it is vital our Coventry Sales Centre is extended to meet customer demand and expectation.”

Business continues

“It is important that we stress to our customers that the Sales Centre will not close during the redevelopment activity and it will be ‘business as usual’ throughout the period,” he adds.

“Volvo’s long term presence in the UK has been constant while other manufacturers have come and gone.

“This significant investment in the redevelopment highlights our unswerving commitment to the market as we move forward. While the centre is being created for coach customers of all sizes, we believe that larger operators in particular will like the new facilities and all they have to offer.

Leading the way

“Our customers’ experience is a key driver for us and it is important that we continue to lead the way and offer them the very best, state-of-the-art facilities that are totally fit for the requirements of coach operators in the 21st Century.

“This truly reflects our core values and will make a real statement of our intent to the retail and used vehicle market.”
