Wattsway Travel of London has introduced a new Yutong GT12 and an ex-demonstrator U11DD battery-electric double-deck bus to its fleet, supplied by Pelican Bus and Coach. They join a number of existing vehicles from the Yutong marque with Wattsway, including battery-electric coaches.

The 53-seat GT12 has a DAF MX-11 engine rated at 450bhp driving through a ZF EcoLife gearbox. Internal fittings include USB-A and USB-C charging points, 240-volt sockets, mood lighting, and wood-effect flooring.

Within the U11DD is 385kWh of battery capacity. It will utilise the operator’s existing on-site charging provision and comes with 72 seats finished in leather, leading it to be described as a high specification vehicle by the dealership.

Alloy wheels, tinted windows, wood-effect flooring and a 360-degree bird’s eye camera system and included and USB charging points and saloon air-conditioning are also part of the U11DD package.

Handover to Wattsway Travel General Manager Scott Passfield (pictured, right) was by Pelican Area Sales Manager Steve O’Neill (pictured, left).

UK Coach and Truck Sales Manager Simon Collins has thanked the operator for its ongoing business. “We are as grateful as ever for the support again shown by Wattsway and we look forward to these vehicles serving London and the surrounding areas well,” he says.
