Rabbie’s Trail Burners is continuing its growth trajectory with an almost £2.5 million finance round from the Royal Bank of Scotland and Lombard. That added a net eight minicoaches to its fleet and is supporting the Edinburgh operator to broaden its product offering.
The vehicle element of the funding has gone towards 22 EVM vehicles, which while replacing older fleet members have also led to the increase in numbers. Potential further expansion into Europe is now on the agenda as part of plans to evolve services and invest in its brand.
Rabbie’s has seen what it says are “record levels of demand” for its small group services, which provide departures from cities including Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, Manchester, Dublin and some parts of Italy.
It believes that minicoaches – of which it now has 108 – deliver a more personalised experience for customers, allowing them to enjoy areas and routes that larger coaches cannot access. Tours last for between one and 16 days.
West Sussex dealership EVM UK has again supplied the latest vehicles. Rabbie’s is an established customer, and in 2024 took delivery of 26 minicoaches from that source.
In addition to ongoing growth plans, Rabbie’s says it has made “significant strides” in supporting local communities and sustainability initiatives. The operator’s self-imposed carbon tax has already raised over £120,000 for those projects across its destinations.
Speaking about the funding agreement, Rabbie’s Trail Burners Chief Financial Officer Fraser Robertson says: “At Rabbie’s, our focus has always been on providing memorable experiences while supporting local communities and promoting sustainable travel.
“It is great to have the continued support and guidance of Royal Bank of Scotland as we utilise this investment to meet the increasing demand for our tours with travellers from across the globe.”
Adds Royal Bank of Scotland Relationship Director Angus Johnstone: “Rabbie’s Trail Burners is a shining example of a company that combines business success with a strong commitment to sustainability and community support.
“We are proud to support its expansion and look forward to seeing it continue to grow and make a positive impact.”
