Treka Bus has announced details of its forthcoming CitySprint low-floor minibus conversion that will debut in early 2026 on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter base.
The type takes Treka into a new field and represents a departure from its traditional high-floor accessible minibuses. Two models will be available. The CitySprint 7 will be the launch variant, and at 7.4m it will carry up to 22 passengers with space for one wheelchair user.
Following will be the CitySprint 8 at 8.1m, which Treka says will convey up to 26 passenger and a maximum of two wheelchair users. Such a level of capacity will make it unique in the van conversion field, the manufacturer adds.
It sees the CitySprint 7 as suiting rural bus routes, community services and urban demand responsive transport (DRT). The CitySprint 8 is viewed as being ideal for shuttle services, private fleets, and capacity-critical operations with small vehicles.
The Woodall Nicholson Group subsidiary says it will invest in stock vehicles to ensure rapid availability of the new range. Orders are already being taken with first deliveries in January 2026. A seven-year conversion warranty will be provided alongside three-year Mercedes-Benz coverage. A starting price of £115,000 is quoted.
Arrival of the CitySprint will combine Treka’s established skillset in van conversion with the wider group’s expertise in low-floor vehicles. Sister Business Mellor has long offered the coachbuilt Strata low-floor range on the Sprinter and earlier in 2025 unveiled an updated variant of that model.
Production of the CitySprint will be in the UK. Standard equipment is to include LED destination display units, USB charging points, cab and saloon air-conditioning and heating, GSR2 Mercedes-Benz systems, a reversing camera, and a roof hatch.
Beyond that, what Treka says is a wide range of options will enable CitySprint vehicles to be tailored to customers’ needs. Those will include PSVAR compliance, CCTV and audio-visual systems, styling upgrades that capture colour-coded bumpers, skirts and grilles, and tinted glazing.
In designing the vehicle, Treka adds it has engaged with community transport organisations, DRT providers and local authorities.
Explains Sales Director Richard Matthews: “The CitySprint has been developed by listening closely to our customers and understanding the challenges they face. Operators need vehicles that are accessible, reliable, and available without long delays – and that is exactly what we have set out to deliver.
“By building in Britain and drawing on our group’s low-floor expertise, we can offer a minibus that combines quality, value, and peace of mind. With stock available from January 2026 and backed by our seven-year warranty, the CitySprint is ready to help communities stay connected.”
