Sanders Coaches is offering coach parking at its three depots in Norfolk on a charity basis over the festive period of 1 November to 31 December, with all fellow operators visiting the area invited to partake.
The business has bases in Holt, North Walsham and on the edge of Norwich city centre and each will be available for coach parking. A minimum donation of £10 is requested from those utilising the provision. All receipts will go to local charity St Martins, which works to combat homelessness in Norfolk and Norwich.
Each location has vehicle wash and toilet drop facilities that visiting coaches will be able to use, along with a restroom and free tea and coffee. Both drivers and couriers are welcome although no facilities for passengers are available. Sanders asks that all visiting staff report to reception upon arrival and wear a high visibility vest when on site.
Operations Manager Kieran Smith advises that the charity coach parking will be available any time between 0900-1700hrs across the period in question. Advance bookings are not essential, but Mr Smith adds that it would be helpful for him to know of visiting coaches ahead of arrival, for which he can be contacted via email.
Should an operator need any parking or facilities outside the above times, they are asked to get in touch with Mr Smith who says Sanders may be able to help.
He adds that the areas for coach parking are ideal for vehicles visiting Norfolk over the festive period, including the Thursford Christmas Spectacular. The three Sanders Coaches depots are located at:
-
- Heath Drive, Holt, NR25 6ER – a few minutes from Holt town centre, which otherwise has no coach parking, and no more than 15 minutes from the Thursford Christmas Spectacular. Access is from the A148 Holt bypass roundabout via Nightjar Road and through new build houses
- 58 Bessemer Road, Norwich, NR4 6AT – five minutes from Norwich city centre and accessed from the A47/A140 behind Asda
- 23 Cornish Way, North Walsham, NR28 0AT – which is no more than 20 minutes from Cromer, Wroxham, Aylsham and the Bure Valley Railway. Access is from the A149 via following MOT centre signs.
St Martins is described by Mr Smith as being a fantastic charity that “does incredible work at Christmas time and over the winter for the homeless and vulnerable communities of Norfolk. We wanted to do this as something to raise money for a local charity over Christmas.”
