Crosskeys Coaches of Folkestone has added an Enviro200 to its fleet, built and supplied by Alexander Dennis.
The 10.8m example has 40 seats and it is used on a contract with a shipping line to carry foot passengers on and off cross-channel ferries at the Port of Dover. A ferry lift function is useful in that endeavour and enables the Enviro200 to navigate boarding ramps with ease.
Also fitted is equipment to comply with the PSV Accessible Information Regulations, allowing the bus to be used on Crosskeys’ local services if required.
Speaking about the purchase, Managing Director Alan Johnson says: “The Alexander Dennis Enviro200 is perfect for this ferry shuttle contract, with a spacious interior that only has modest steps towards the rear, allowing passengers to spread across the bus easily.
“We expect it will be a reliable and economic performer, just like the three Enviro400 double-deckers we operate already.”
Alexander Dennis Regional Sales Manager Mark Taylor has thanked Crosskeys for its business. “We appreciate Alan Johnson choosing our product. The new Enviro200 looks fantastic in Crosskeys Coaches’ distinctive orange and grey livery.
“Its use at the Port of Dover is testament to the versatility of our single-deck buses, which are easily deployed on shuttle services such as this one.”
