Johnsons Coaches has used Road Safety Week to highlights its measures to keep passengers, drivers and the public safe.

The Warwickshire-based operator is a member of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) and the Road Operators’ Safety Council (ROSCO) and uses the latest technology to support safe driving.

ROSCO recognises and rewards driver safety within coach and bus, while RoSPA’s scope is more general with regards to accidents and injuries.

Alongside safety certifications from ROSCO and RoSPA, Johnsons Coaches’ team holds advanced qualifications through IAM RoadSmart.

Johnsons Coaches also stresses that it uses on-board technology such as Samsara to monitor driving behaviour.

Peter Lloyd, Training Manager at Johnsons Coaches, is as a DVSA Mod 3A and Mod 4 examiner, CPC Trainer, and national observer for IAM RoadSmart. He works alongside Paul Stevens, Company Driving Instructor and advanced driver qualified trainer, to administer high standards of driver training.

The operator, which is part of The Coach Travel Group, also says it supports wider community initiatives, such as school crossing awareness and campaigns against drink driving.

“Road safety is central to everything we do at Johnsons,” says Mr Lloyd. “Through advanced driver training, continuous professional development, and innovative technology, we ensure our drivers are equipped to deliver the safest journey possible for all passengers.”
