Bluestar has named Young Lives vs Cancer as its corporate charity partner for 2026 and 2027.
That will see the Southampton-based Go South Coast business spend the coming two years raising funds and awareness to help the charity’s specialist social work to provide tailored support to children and young people with cancer and their families.
Young Lives vs Cancer has a local team based at Southampton General Hospital. It provides emotional, practical and financial support for young people and families facing cancer and in 2025 helped 197 patients aged up to 25 in Hampshire. Bereavement support to families is also delivered.
Speaking about the decision, Bluestar General Manager Richard Tyldsley says: “Young Lives vs Cancer is a vital resource within our local area, and the charity relies on donates from those living and working here.
“Our corporate charity is voted for by the Bluestar team. Some of my colleagues have benefited or will benefit directly from the support that Young Lives vs Cancer provides, so we are delighted to be backing this very worthy cause, and raising as much money possible over the coming years.”
One of the operator’s buses will also carry a promotional message for the charity on its rear. That will be seen by thousands of people across Hampshire “and will help to increase awareness of this very worthy cause,” adds Mr Tyldsley.
The charity’s Senior Fundraising Engagement Manager for Hampshire Liz Blunt (pictured, right) has thanked Bluestar for its backing.
“At Young Lives vs Cancer, we rely on donations to fund our vital work. We are always looking for support to help us to do what we do for local children and young people.
“Our new charity partnership with Bluestar promises to make a significant difference to the lives of people living within the local community, and we are looking forward to raising some much-needed funds together over the next two years.”
