Compass Travel is another SME bus operator to choose the Alexander Dennis Enviro400 for its first new double-decks, having taken delivery of two of the type.
They are 11.5m examples each with 85 seats, including a tip-up position in the wheelchair user bay. Fit-out is to the manufacturer’s standard retail specification, including a radio/PA system, a tachograph, and belts on the high-backed seats.
The double-decks join a 92-strong fleet that is already 90% sourced from Alexander Dennis via its Enviro200. Most recently, 11 of those were purchased new in the spring and summer of 2025.
Compass Travel will use the Enviro400 pair to service a contract with The Chichester College Group. They will also work rail replacement and event services.
Speaking about the delivery, Director Michael Bishop says: “Our contract with The Chichester College Group, alongside a growing pipeline of commercial opportunities, has created the right platform for us to expand the fleet with our largest new buses to date.
“We have bought many Enviro200 single-decks from Alexander Dennis, standardising our fleet to bring us an enviable level of operational reliability and consistency for customers.
“Our long experience with these buses, and always-fantastic service from [Regional Sales Manager] Mark Taylor and the team, made the Enviro400 the obvious choice for two high-capacity additions to our fleet.”
Adds Mr Taylor: “It is always a pleasure to work with Michael and the team, and to see their fantastic fleet grow – and it is a real honour to be here for delivery of their first new high-capacity Enviro400 buses.
“Compass Travel continues to go from strength to strength. We are grateful to be part of the journey, and very proud that the business turns to Alexander Dennis for its new bus needs again and again.”
