Ellisons Travel has received its first coaches from the Van Hool T range with the arrival of a pair of T17 Astron examples, supplied by VDL Bus UK and sales representative Robert White (pictured).

They follow previous TDX21 Altanos into the St Helens fleet. Each has 57 Kiel 1030 seats in grey and cream real leather with diamond stitching, side flaps, and three-point belts. The glazed roof option has been specified by Ellisons along with a centre sunken toilet.

Also part of the specification is a fridge, a 22-inch LCD monitor at the front, a public address system, and an entertainment package including a radio and CD and DVD players.

Each coach has a camera monitoring system in place of rear-view mirrors and they also come with cantrail downlighting on both sides.

Power is from the DAF MX-13 engine developing 530bhp coupled to the Allison T525R six-speed automatic gearbox.
