Rotala will take the number of new Alexander Dennis Enviro200 buses bought by the group since 2024 to beyond 100 when a batch of 21 for its Diamond Bus operations in the West Midlands complete delivery over the coming weeks.

The latest buses are 10.8m examples with 40 of the builder’s SmartSeats. Its SmartPack fuel efficiency technology is also provided, qualifying them under the Low Emission Bus scheme from Zemo Partnership and delivering enhanced BSOG payments as well as lower operating costs.

They follow a previous batch of 21 vehicles for Rotala operations in Preston and the West Midlands and 67 supplied in Bee Network yellow to deliver franchised services on behalf of Transport for Greater Manchester for a total of 109 when delivery is complete.

Chief Executive Simon Dunn describes Rotala’s partnership with Alexander Dennis on the Enviro200 as having been “a great choice for our ongoing fleet upgrades” and notes that previous deliveries to Preston and the West Midlands have proved popular with drivers and passengers.

Mr Dunn adds that the Enviro200 also helps to deliver on a key strategy for Rotala of reducing its environmental impact. Other recent procurement has seen the group receive battery-electric buses.

The first seven of the latest 21-strong delivery entered service from 1 March on routes in the Solihull area. They carry 26-plate registration marks. Their arrival quickly follows Rotala celebrating its 20th anniversary at the end of 2025.

Speaking about the supply arrangement, Alexander Dennis Regional Sales Manager Simon Wood says: “We could not be prouder that Rotala has chosen Alexander Dennis once again for new low-emission, passenger-pleasing buses.

“It is a pleasure to work with Simon and the team again on this significant fleet upgrade for the West Midlands.” Rotala operates over 240 buses in the region from three depots.
