Go South Coast has appointed David Lee-Kong (pictured) to the role of Commercial Director.
In his new role, David will focus on shaping the company’s commercial direction and supporting initiatives designed to strengthen its market position across the South of England.
He steps into the role after serving as Operations Director since joining the business in 2018. During that period he has overseen operational performance across the Go-Ahead subsidiary’s network, which spans multiple brands and territories across the south coast and operates a fleet of over 850 buses over 140 routes. The company’s portfolio of companies include Bluestar, Damory, Hants & Dorset Trim, Excelsior, Morebus, Salisbury Reds, Southern Vectis, Swindon’s Bus Company, and Tourist Coaches.
The promotion comes as Go South Coast continues to expand its activities in the region, with the company looking to identify further opportunities for network development and commercial growth.
“David joined Go South Coast in 2018 as Operations Director and, working with his wider team, has delivered an incredibly high standard of operational performance,” comments Ed Wills, Go South Coast Managing Director. “Despite the day-to-day challenges of running coaches and buses, Go South Coast is widely recognised as one of the industry’s leading operators — and this is testament to excellent work from David and his team.”
David adds: “Go South Coast is regarded as a leader within the transport industry, and I am proud to have been part of the team to have achieved this status. I am relishing the prospect of building on our success by growing our business, and cementing our reputation as a dominant force, across the south of England.”
Outside of his duties with Go South Coast David is also President of the Omnibus Society for 2026. He is also involved in industry engagement through his role on the organising committee for the Young Bus Professionals Conference, alongside Matt Kitchin and David Conway.
