Stagecoach South has unveiled 22 new Yutong U11DD battery-electric double-deckers for service in Blackwater Valley and Surrey.
After being introduced to the public at a launch event in Guildford, the vehicles will begin operating on routes including the 1 and 20 over the coming months.
Supported by Surrey County Council through the Surrey Greener Futures programme, the buses carry up to 73 passengers and two wheelchairs, with USB and USB-C charging at every seat.
Marc Reddy, Managing Director of Stagecoach South, says: “These new electric buses represent a major step forward in delivering cleaner, quieter and more comfortable journeys for customers across Blackwater Valley and Surrey.
“They bring significant environmental benefits while also improving accessibility, comfort and overall customer experience.”
