Leger Holidays will introduce the Lumina brand to its coach tour programme in 2027 in a move that the business says will “redefine premium travel across Europe.”
The concept will commence operation from spring 2027. A pair of Van Hool T17 Astron top-specification vehicles owned by Skills Motor Coaches of Nottingham will be used for that first phase, with Leger Shearings Group noting that it will be discussing opportunities with partners to expand the Lumina fleet for 2028 and beyond.
Tours will be accompanied throughout by a dedicated curator and two hosts. They will provide personal attention and enhance the overall experience, Leger continues.
Each 14.3m T17 Astron is to seat just 27 passengers in a 2+1 layout within what the holiday provider says will be “an intimate, sanctuary-like environment focused on quiet luxury and personal space.” Other elements of the vehicle specification include:
-
- A panoramic glazed roof
- Armchair-style seats trimmed in leather with deep diamond-quilted cushions and generous recline
- An average of 1.04m legroom
- Personal entertainment systems for every passenger
- Complimentary high-speed Starlink wi-fi
- Mood lighting that shift throughout the journey
- A rear onboard servery and complimentary drinks.
Over 40 tours will be operated across Europe from launch of Lumina, adds Leger Shearings. Destinations include Switzerland; Lake Garda, Venice and Verona; and La Rioja and San Sebastian.
The business states that the Lumina Collection has been created to appeal to travellers seeking a premium alternative to flying, while confirming that its Luxuria brand – launched in 2015 – will continue alongside Lumina.

Leger Shearings Group Chief Product Officer Chris Plummer adds: “We are not losing Luxuria – there is, however, a new contender raising the bar and giving our customers even more choice.
“Lumina has been 11 years in the making – our most considered launch in more than a decade, shaped not by haste, but by the pursuit of getting everything right.”
Adds CEO Liam Race: “At the beginning of this year, we reported that Leger Holidays has seen a clear demographic shift, attracting a more affluent customer base. This resulted in longer and more premium holiday bookings, especially via Leger’s exclusive Luxuria coach, which experienced a 25% year-over-year growth.
“Leger Holidays changed the perception of coach holidays with its business class equivalent coaches. Our guests love the stress-free, ultra-comfortable travel experience – avoiding flying and all the exhausting drama, hanging around and uncertainty it can involve.
“It is a more sustainable way to explore Europe too. The introduction of our exclusively designed, cutting-edge Lumina coach builds on this demand and takes it one step further.”
