Birmingham-based operator is the first to take Turas small coach from new British-based dealership
Meadway Coaches of Birmingham has become the first buyer to take delivery of a vehicle from the Noone Turas range supplied by newly-appointed British dealer Midlands Bus and Coach Sales (MBCS).
The Mercedes-Benz Atego-based Turas 900 impressed with its cab arrangement, entrance and luggage capacity, says Director Chris Watson.
“It has the feel of a full-sized coach and the standard of finish is excellent. We asked for some tweaks to be made and the vehicle was delivered exactly as we required,” says Mr Watson.
“Additionally, the Turas 900 will cover a high mileage with us and fuel consumption was an important consideration.”
The midicoach carries the operator’s distinctive metallic green livery and it was handed over by MBCS Director Andy Garratt, who took an older vehicle as a part-exchange.
“We looked long and hard at various other models as it was important that we purchased the vehicle that suits us best,” adds Mr Watson. “In particular, the large rear boot of the Turas 900 is vital for us.”
Meadway Coaches operates 12 vehicles and the Turas 900 is the only one that is not full-sized. It will be used on various work including corporate hires and tours.
