The new VDL Futura FHD2s for Chalfont Coaches are 12.9m, 57-seaters

Chalfont Coaches of London has returned to VDL for a pair of 12.9m Futura FHD2 coaches, supplied by Moseley in the South (01823 653000).

Both have 57 seats along with a centre sunken toilet and a boiler. Their specification also includes climate control with a Webasto auxiliary coolant heater, and an integrated fridge within the dashboard.

Power is from the latest-generation DAF MX-11 engine rated at 370bhp coupled to ZF’s EcoLife automatic gearbox. Alcoa Dura-Bright wheels and Chalfont’s distinctive livery completes the look.

Although the two new coaches for Chalfont are 12.9m models, the Moseley group of companies also supply the Futura FHD2 in 10.6m, 12.2m and 13.5m form on two axles. It is additionally available in three-axle form.
