Transport2 (UK), the company behind the CoachHire.com platform, has purchased the business and assets of Momentum Hub following an investment of £5.75m from Souter Investments over the past 14 months.

The acquisition means that CoachHire.com will provide services to more than 2m passengers within the corporate, education and leisure sector via more than 1,500 coach and minibus operators.

Says CEO Matthew Hassell: “This deal will provide us with the scale that we need to maintain the pace we have set as an innovator and leader within the Mobility as a Service sector.

“Acquiring the Momentum brand also demonstrates our commitment to becoming the market leader for group transport.”

He adds that the deal will allow CoachHire.com to invest more resources in driving innovation. Its existing technology allows it to employ a ‘right vehicle, right journey’ policy where capacities are optimised.

It is also the UK’s largest provider of managed home-to-school solutions.
