The Go-Ahead Group has recognised the contribution made by The Cordant Group – one of the world’s largest social enterprises – at its second annual Sustainable Supplier Awards.
Cordant provides bus cleaning, shunting and refuelling services to Go-Ahead.
It became one of the largest for-profit organisations to transition to a social enterprise model in 2017. It has a £3m profit cap, beyond which all further proceeds go to charitable causes.
Cordant was praised for its structured staff initiatives, which focus on creating rewarding roles with potential for personal growth and mentorship.
