DVSA Driver CPC (DCPC) recording and evidencing system has been experiencing an ‘error’.
Alec Horner, CEO Association of Trainers, explains that drivers with ‘acquired rights’ and have dual class Driver Qualification Cards (DQC) on the basis of their C1 truck entitlement and had six years to complete their current round of driver CPC periodic training ending on 9 September this year, have their training taken between 10 September 2013 and 9 September 2014 marked as ‘invalid’ on the DVSA training record system, which is an error.
He says: “DVSA has given assurances that this will be fixed in the near future, but in the meantime drivers should not undertake unnecessary periodic training to cover for the courses marked as invalid as these are valid and the new DQCs will be issued automatically when the glitch is fixed.
“Remember that DCPC periodic training cannot be ‘banked’ and that any additional training undertaken before 10 September cannot be used towards the next round and therefore will be marked as invalid after the system has been updated.”
JAUPT has confirmed no action is required from drivers or trainers as the relevant periodic training will automatically revert to valid.
