Abellio Rail Replacement expands to East Mids

Abellio Rail Replacement (ARR) will expand its operations from August to coincide with the launch of the group’s East Midlands Railway franchise, which will take over train services between London and Nottingham/Sheffield along with local routes in the region.

ARR says that will allow it to offer additional work to existing suppliers, who provide vehicles to replace trains run by the Greater Anglia and West Midlands Trains franchises, and also to operators that are new to ARR’s database.

It also provides an opportunity to support ARR’s sister company Event Connect, which provides transport for events and corporate clients.

Says Corporate Travel Services Director Ian Jeffrey: “We’re excited to expand out operations to support the new East Midlands Railway franchise.

“We have worked hard to make rail replacement attractive to coach and bus operators with our easy-to-use portal and industry-leading 15-day payment terms.”
