Chadderton, Greater Manchester-based Swans Travel has completed the purchase of 20-vehicle business Travel Master, which is based at Carrington to the south of the city.

Travel Master undertakes a mixture of corporate work, private hire and aircrew transfers. The deal takes Swans’ fleet to 55 vehicles. Both the Carrington site and Swans’ base in Chadderton will be retained, supported by 75 employees from the two businesses.

Travel Master ‘fantastic addition’ to Swans

Commenting on the acquisition, Swans Travel Managing Director Kieran Swindells says: “Travel Master is a fantastic addition, with an excellent record of delivering high-quality services.

“Its fleet, strategic location and experienced staff will enable us to fulfil our expanding portfolio of corporate, sports and airline services. We look forward to a smooth transition and also to welcoming our new colleagues and clients, who will benefit from our ongoing investment in people, vehicles and technology.”

Projected growth and combined revenues for the Swans business are set to reach £10m by December 2020, Mr Swindells adds. During a transitionary period, Travel Master founder and Director Zak Master will stay with the business, working alongside Mr Swindells and Swans Operations Director Reno Peers.

Mr Swindells adds that he has no plans to change what has made Travel Master a successful business. It has not yet been decided whether the name will be retained in the long term.

Presence in south of conurbation strengthened

Besides sports team duties, Swans operates commuter contracts for Amazon, Manchester Airport and property company Bruntwood. It also provides business transport for travel management companies Clarity and Capita. The purchase of Travel Master will help it to deliver those contracts while strengthening its position in south Manchester.

Separately, Swans recently provided 10 VIP coaches to transport teams taking part in the ICC Cricket World Cup.

Swans was advised on the purchase of Travel Master by O’Donnell Solicitors, led by Director James O’Donnell, and by Peter O’Mally of Afford Bond chartered accountants
