Free all-day bus travel for NHS staff

Brighton & Hove Buses and Metrobus celebrated the National Health Service’s 70th birthday on Thursday 5 July by offering NHS staff free travel all day.

Employees had to show their NHS staff ID card to board the bus for free, and they didn’t have to be travelling to or from work to take advantage of the offer.

Brighton & Hove Buses’ Managing Director Martin Harris says: “Like many others out there, we want to thank our dedicated, hard-working NHS staff.

“We have all had experience, either directly ourselves or through family members, of the brilliant and dedicated work of NHS staff – often working in extremely challenging conditions. I have huge respect for the dedication and service of NHS staff, past and present. The very least we can do is offer them free travel to mark this momentous day.”
