Optibus offers contingency scheduling

Optibus says its bus scheduling platform can assist operators that wish to alter their timetables and rotas as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak.

It is offering a no-cost licence for three months to its platform for that purpose. Once the operator’s data is uploaded, Optibus will create “multiple contingency plans” that involve reduced routes and frequencies that can be analysed and exported back to the operator’s current system.

When the required service reduction is defined, the platform will provide the user with contingency timetables, vehicle and crew scheduling and rostering, and business metrics.

The latter allows an immediate assessment of the contingency planning with KPIs including total cost, number of duties, paid time and vehicle and crew efficiency.

Interested parties should email info@optibus.com with a subject line of ‘COVID-19 contingency plans’.
