Children’s rainbows brighten spirits on Warrington’s buses

Rainbows are being displayed in the windows of Warrington’s Own Buses’ vehicles during the coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak to boost morale.

First appearing in houses throughout Warrington, drivers spotted the pictures when driving past and are now showing pictures of their own.

Many of the posters are drawn by children, with one created by six-year-old Sebastian Mead (pictured), son of Head of Commercial Growth at Warrington’s Own Buses Gareth Mead.

Says Gareth: “We wanted to acknowledge all the pictures of rainbows we’d seen in houses across the town. We thought that by responding with a picture of our own, it might pass on a good feeling.”

The operator worked with Mckenna Brothers, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of bus information displays, to print and fit the drawings.

Warrington’s Own Buses has recently been praised for providing free travel to NHS and health and social care workers, as well as providing transport to older people throughout the pandemic.

It encourages anyone to send in pictures through its website and offers the chance for them to be displayed.
