Bluestar is unveiling a special rainbow bus in tribute to NHS staff in Hampshire.

The Go-Ahead owned operator says it was looking for a way to show its appreciation to key workers across Southampton and the surrounding area.

The bus will be used on Bluestar 17, the most regular route for Southampton general Hospital.

Says Nikki Honer, Bluestar Head of Communications: “We hope the rainbow bus reflects our huge respect for NHS workers and the pride we have in transporting them across the region.

“Our drivers, who are also key workers, are proud to be helping local heroes travel to hospitals and NHS locations.

“With this in mind we wanted to show our appreciation for everything NHS staff are doing to save the lives of people within our community.”

Bluestar also pays tribute to other key workers supporting the UK throughout the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic.
