The Department for Transport (DfT) has invited operators of local bus services in England to attend an online question and answer (Q&A) session examining the National Bus Strategy, including Bus Service Improvement Plans (BSIPs). It will be held on Wednesday 2 June at 1300hrs.

The Q&A session will be staged jointly with the Confederation of Passenger Transport (CPT), although membership of the Confederation is not necessary to take part. CPT Head of Policy Alison Edwards will host the event. It will include:

  • An update on the bus sector’s recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic
  • What BSIPs should focus on
  • When local transport authorities (LTAs) should have an Enhanced Partnership in place or pursuing franchising
  • How operators can start collaborating with LTAs.

Participants will be able to put questions to members of DfT’s policy teams. A similar session will be held with LTAs, DfT says.

Join the event on Zoom at the prescribed time here.
