Alexander Dennis (ADL) has appointed Gerry Lynch (pictured, left) as Regional Service Manager for Ireland. Based in Dublin, he will be the go-to point of contact for coach and bus operators across the island of Ireland.

Gerry will support a team of eight field service engineers at ADL’s service partner Ardee Coach Trim, and provide aftersales services for Irish customers of ADL bus and Plaxton coach products.

In addition, Ardee Coach Trim has completed a new four-bay workshop at its main site in Co. Louth between Dublin and Belfast. It will be used for pre-delivery inspections of ADL vehicles entering Ireland.

Meanwhile, Ardee Coach Trim has opened a new workshop in Ennis, Co. Clare, on the Cork-Limerick-Galway corridor, where it will support Bus Éireann fleets and retail coach and bus customers.

Local stock availability has also increased thanks to ADL bringing 4,500 additional square feet of warehouse capacity into use in Greater Dublin. It adds that a regional parts sales manager will join the company shortly.

“ADL prides itself in providing best-in-class aftermarket support and our Irish customers are no exception,” says Tony Davis, ADL Group Aftermarket Director. “By combining our own investment with Ardee Coach Trim as a reliable and capable partner, we have the perfect infrastructure to support ADL buses, including the plug-in hybrid and battery-electric buses we are building for the National Transport Authority, as well as Plaxton coaches which are ever more popular with independent coach operators.”

Adds Ciaran Lennon, Ardee Coach Trim Director: “Complementary to our field service engineers, Ardee Coach Trim has invested in infrastructure including background management staff, manned store facilities, a main workshop facility in Ardee and our newly added southwestern hub in Ennis, plus the service capability for vehicle transportation.

“We have invested in all aspects on our service package (with ADL) to support our customers, and no more so than our human resources where we have recruited a highly skilled team of currently 21 personnel to support ADL products and its customers. We endeavour to further grow and enhance the customer experience.”
