Aircoach unveiled its newest airport shuttle service on Monday, 18 September, offering a direct route from Leicester to Birmingham Airport.

Committed to 24/7 service, the route initiates from St Margaret’s Bus Station in central Leicester, providing a pick-up option at Fosse Park, before making its final halt at Birmingham Airport. A bus will be provided every hour.

It marks the first time Aircoach, which is part of First Bus, has operated a service in England, following success in Ireland. It was crowned the Airport Coach Operator of the Year in 2020 and has since showcased exemplary performance with frequent services from Dublin Airport, connecting cities such as Cork, Belfast, Galway and three dedicated routes to Dublin City Centre, further extending to South Dublin and Wicklow.

Passengers availing online booking facilities at aircoach.travel can secure their journey for £9 one way. Last-minute travellers can find seats made available at St Margaret’s and Fosse Park for £16 one way. The service offers a 15kg luggage allowance and permits an additional onboard small bag.

Ian Smith, Commercial Director at First Bus in Leicester, says:  “We are really excited to be operating the new Aircoach service between Leicester and Birmingham Airport from Monday 18 September. It is the closest international airport to the city of Leicester with thousands of holiday makers jetting off to sunnier climates and winter destinations all year round. We are also expecting the service to be popular with the many business travellers who need to make short trips across to Europe and back over a 24 hour timeline.”

Richard Gill, Commercial Director at Birmingham Airport, adds: “The new Aircoach service connecting Leicester easily with Birmingham Airport will provide a convenient and cost-effective travel option for both our leisure and business customers.”
