Teesside-based Delta Coaches has doubled its workforce and increased its offering by buying GL Coaches.

The acquisition, managed by business advisors Anderson Barrowcliff, safeguards 15 jobs and secures inward investment in the region for work across the UK and Europe.

Now including accessible vehicles suitable for passengers with mobility issues, as well a wider range of vehicle sizes, the fleet of 20 coaches is able to “provide a stronger, and more broad service to customers in what is a niche market in executive travel.”

Within two weeks of the acquisition, Delta Coaches has secured a new account, which will see the firm’s increased fleet of accessible vehicles put to use.

Says MD Gary Walton (pictured, right): “Being able to retain Delta’s team is important to us and we're pleased to be building the local economy with future appointments.”

Delta Coaches is looking to increase its workforce further by immediately recruiting four members of staff, as well as training and recruiting further members for seasonal roles from April.

Anderson Barrowcliff partner James Dale (pictured, left) headed up the acquisition offering support in all areas including structuring the deal, due diligence and tax advisory work amongst other services.

Delta Coaches’ newly appointed Director (centre) Judith Haysmore says: “James Dale felt like part of our team from day one and went over and above to help us at every step of the way.”
