New Chairman for Derbyshire County cricket club

Ian Morgan, Deputy Chairman of Trent Barton owner Wellglade, has been appointed Chairman of Derbyshire County Cricket Club following the Annual General Meeting on Wednesday (29 March).

Speaking of his new role, Ian says: “I’m immensely proud to be elected as Chairman of Derbyshire County Cricket Club. Exciting, challenging times ahead for the club and cricket.”

Ian, who was awarded an OBE for his services to public transport in 2015 and was confirmed as Chairman after the six members of the Club’s Supervisory Board were formally elected at the AGM, all standing unopposed.

“We’re in a really good place at the minute, Chris Grant, in his stewardship as chairman of the last six years has done an absolutely amazing job,” says Ian. “We’re in a wonderful place to move forward and I’m looking forward to getting down to that job.”
