The owner of Bury St Edmunds operator M&J Minibus Hire is taking on the 100-mile Ride London cycle event on 26 May for Cancer Research.

Mike Woodhouse has already raised more than £400 of his £1,000 target via his fund-raising page.

The challenge starts on Victoria Embankment and sees riders loop around Essex before finishing back in London.

Mr Woodhouse says: “My reasons for choosing this charity is that last year my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer and my cousin was full of cancer and, on Valentine’s Day, has now sadly died at the tender age of 45! She leaves a husband and two teenage children.”

Amid support received from the industry already, he says he has already been sponsored by colleagues at Robinsons Coach Travel and Sherwoods Minibus Hire.
